Located in central Caswell County (county pop. 25,000), Yancey House Restaurant & Gallery offers dining in an historic, relaxing, and inviting atmosphere. The c. 1807 home was the residence of early 19th century Congressman & educational reformer Bartlett Yancey. Truly a destination restaurant, guests visit from outlying communities to savor dishes with a Southern "awareness."

Chef Lucindy Willis, Ph.D. adjusts the menu seasonally, working closely w/ local farmers to provide only the freshest produce available. Inspiration for the dishes comes from the owners' Texas and Louisiana roots, the local farming community, and from the slow food movement, an eco-gastronomic movement that celebrates living the slow life with food.

What's New
on the
Menu?

For dinner, try Eggplant Bayou Teche as an appetizer. Fried eggplant topped w/ crab, shrimp, fresh tomatoes, & cheese. We also offer a Sea Bass Bayou Teche.

In our efforts to buy foods closer to home, we only use Texas Gulf shrimp packed in fresh water in our dishes. In addition, I am expecting our first shipment of Texas Mammoth pecans later this week. I see pecan pies in our future!

Lunch. In Sept. we will slowly phase out summer items & replace them w/ autumn savories. Enjoy a glass of carrot juice made fresh daily by yours truly. theliterarychef.com can explain why this is called the “miracle beverage.” On the lunch menu, this month, look for an autumnal panini & chicken pot pies.

Vegetable Plate: Normally we stop serving the veggie plate mid-September, however, this year, we will seek out local veggies & re-envision our veggie plate for autumn.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Night Country Specials. Give yourself the evening off. For $12.50 enjoy iced tea, salad, Texas brisket, chicken or pork, yukon gold mashed potatoes, home-made coleslaw, & veggies. Then go home & watch the leaves change color.

Texas Gulf Shrimp on the Friday Night “Endless” Seafood Platter 24. Design your own platter—oysters, catfish, & our new Texas-Louisiana Gulf shrimp—served with french fries, house-made hushpuppies, & coleslaw. For reservations, call 336.694.4225.
