Friday, November 20. The Chocolate Drops. North Carolina's acclaimed African American "Ole-Time" string band breathes new life into old traditions with impeccable skill. Magnificent banjo, fiddle, and jug playing are married to authentic vocals, harmonica, guitar, step dance, and occasionally 'the bones,' to recreate the North Carolina Piedmont's rich nineteenth century musical legacy of barn dances, frolics, and corn shuckings.
Tuesday, December 8. Silver Bells and Dimaonds. Although normally closed on Tuesday nights, the Yancey House will serve dinner before this special event. A Yuletide Rock n' Roll Revue starring the Diamonds known for such hits as "Why Do Foolds Fall in Love," "Silhouettes," "The Stroll," and "Little Darlin."
Friday, March 19. An Evening with Ronnie Milsap. With forty #1 hits, over 25 million records sold, seven Grammy Awards, four Academic of Country Music Awards, and eight Country Music Association Awards, Ronnie Milsap is the pre-eminent country soul singer of his generation.
Friday, April 23. Rock and Roll
Heaven. The late Ed Sullivan wants to return to live TV! And he believes
that he can use his exalted position in heaven to reunite a group of the legends
he originally introduced to America to it. From this premise, we get live concerts
by the most talented imitators performing today--Buddy Hooly, Ray Charles, Roy
Orbison, James Brown and Johnny Cash--interspersed with a full-fledged Ed Sullivan
Show, featuring a score of original new songs by Grammy Award winner Lou Elkind.
